Although we have not fully realized our potentials and dreams of our forebears who fought for our freedom, we have indeed come a long way in our attempts to establish a just and free society, where every Ghanaian has the opportunity to live decent, productive, and meaningful life.
As we look back at the history of our people, we honor the sacrifices that made it possible for us to stand here today as a free and proud nation.
It is also important for us to reflect on the State of our country as it stands today. What have we achieved as a nation at our post-Independence era? What challenges remain? Are we truly living up to the dreams and aspirations of our forebears? These are salient
questions that each Ghanaian must reflect on” MCD expressed.
He added that, to ‘review’ means to analyze our present condition, measure our progress, and determine what needs to change.
He concluded by saying, after reflection and review, “we must reset our course for the future. This independence anniversary is a moment to recommit to national transformation. Resetting means re-aligning our values and returning to the moral foundation that upholds freedom, justice, and integrity.
Resetting also requires citizens to rise above partisan interests and work for the common good of our country. whatever the call may be to serve Ghana now, and evermore”.
