Markets, lorry stations disinfected at Twifo Atti-Morkwa

As part of measures to help curb the spread of Coronavirus or Covid-19, the Government of Ghana announced the disinfection of all major markets and lorry stations where the virus is likely spread quickly.

This exercise took its turn in the Central Region, Western and Western North, respectively. On Monday, 6th April 2020, Twifo Atti-Morkwa hosted officers deployed by the Government to carry out the exercise.

The exercise started at around 9am at the Twifo Praso New Market and then through to the Zongo market, Yentie Obiaa market, the Lorry stations, and other market places within the district capital (Twifo Praso) and Twifo Mampong.

The police force was present and to ensure sanity and also ensure that all vehicles and shops didn’t operate until the whole exercise was over.

The former Member of Parliament for Twifo Atti-Morkwa, Hon. Samuel Ato Amoah donated some refreshment items to the team.

The District Chief Executive for Twifo Atti-Morkwa, Hon. Robert Agyemang-Nyantakyi was greatly impressed with the outcome and assured the people that whenever it became necessary to disinfect the various market places again, he would give it his best.
