Together we can fight the COVID-19 pandemic – DCE

As part of the government’s effort to curb the fast spread of COVID-19 which has ravaged the world, the Twifo Attimorkwa Assembly has embarked on a sensitization tour to educate and encourage traders and commuters to frequently wash their hands under running water as a preventive measure against the deadly coronavirus.

The DCE of the area, Robert Agyeman – Nyantakyi together with some departmental heads and staff of the assembly distributed veronica buckets, bucket stand, liquid soaps and tissues to some populated areas in Praso Township. These places included Twifo Praso new market, Yentie Obiaa market, the post office, the magistrate court, the education service office and the three main GPRTU branch stations.

Presenting the facilities to the various markets, the District Chief Executive said handwashing had been proven to be the safest way to prevent the virus from spreading hence the distribution of the facilities is to complement efforts in the fight against the pandemic.

In addressing the various gathering, he exhilarated them not to fear or create fear and panic among themselves but should instead, ensure and maintain personal hygiene at all times,

He said to prevent more infections, each person had the obligation to stay a home when not feeling well and report to the nearest health centre for assessment and keep to the directives of the president of the Republic of Ghana.

He further asked them to carefully observe the precautionary measures given to them to ensure safety and sanity. He stress on that parent should cater for all children at home in order to avert the contraction and spread of the virus.

He concluded by disclosing that the distribution would be extended to the rest of the communities once maintenance of the bridge is completed.

The exercise also included public education and sensitization from representatives of the district health directorate. The directorate went on to vividly demonstrate how the handwashing needed is to be done.
