According to the District Chief Executive, Robert Agyemang-Nyantakyi, a total of sixty-four (64) samples were taken from workers of the 60-bed EUROGET District hospital for testing.

He stated that five (5) samples were tested in the early weeks of April, all of which came back negative after the double testing. The second batch of samples taken in May (59 samples) was reported by the DCE to have eight (8) positive cases.

Immediately after receiving the results, authorities moved in quickly to isolate patients whilst contact tracing ongoing. He regrettably added that, one of the confirmed cases had made a trip to the neighboring region before the results reached him. However, he (DCE) was liaising with the authorities in that region so as to track and quickly isolate the patient.

Speaking on Sweet FM, the DCE revealed that, no health worker had been exposed to the novel coronavirus confirmed cases and that all patients have isolated and receiving treatment at Pentecost Convention Center in Kasoa.

He added in his conclusion that, the wearing of nose masks had now become a necessity in the district.
