Twifo Atti- Morkwa inaugurates Public Health Emergency Committee

Twifo Atti-Morkwa has officially inaugurated its Public Health Emergency Committee on April 7, 2020, at the District Assembly’s hall.

The committee was set up to operationalize and monitor implementation of the directives within their area of jurisdiction, especially at the market places, lorry stations and other public places to prevent the spread of the virus.

The committee was sworn in by the District Magistrate for Twifo Praso, His Lordship Mark Deboro.

The members of the committee included:

• District Chief Executive (Chairman)

• District Coordinating Director (Secretary)

• District Security Committee

• District Director of Health

• District Director of Education

• District Information Officer

• District NADMO Coordinator

• District Environmental Health Officer

• Community Water and Sanitation Agency

• District Office of the National Ambulance Service

In order to holistically deal with the pandemic, the Chairman appointed the Medical Superintendent of the District Hospital, the Principal of Twifo Praso Nursing and Midwifery Training College and the Head of National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE).

The committee members were encouraged by the Chairman (District Chief Executive), Hon. Robert Agyemang-Nyantakyi to avail all their expertise to better equip the committee to deliver accordingly.
