She said every child had the right to study in a conducive and safe environment and that the government was committed to ensuring that school children all over the country, irrespective of their location, were provided with decent infrastructure.

Ms Koomson said the programme to build classrooms all schools under trees and stop the shift system are some of the interventions being ursued by the government to ensure that school children have access to quality education.

She appealed to both parents and teachers to work together as partners in educating children.

Ms Koomson stressed the need to inspire the girl child by devoting time, and other resources to ensure quality education for them
including their moral upbringing.

The girl child is special, unique and precious but vulnerable. Parents, especially mothers should listen to their daughters and share
their concerns, she said.
