MCE handover furniture to Municipal Education Directorate
The Municipal Chief Executive of the New Juaben South, Hon. Isaac Appaw-Gyasi on 18th November, 2020, handed over One Thousand (1,000) Dual desks, thirty 30 teachers’ chairs and tables amounted to over Three Hundred and Three Thousand Ghana cedis (GH¢303,267.00) to the Municipal Education directorate for onward distribution to some selected schools in the municipality.

All this was done to enhance and equip the educational sector of the economy through the local governance level.
The MCE commenced proceedings by extolling the president for placing premium on education and also ensuring that all promises made in relation to resource injection geared towards immense transformation of the current status of our educational climate currently executed.
Mr. Appaw-Gyasi further established that education has over the years proven to be the key unlocking economic fortunes and masterminding the progression of European countries in particular, which in view of that will always be incorporated into the priority list of the government for the betterment of the nation.
He was emphatic on how the President is geared towards eliminating challenges confronting the educational fraternity inflicting the outcome of inefficiency.
He stated further that our quest for prosperity and progression of our dear nation will only be attained in reality when we set precedence on providing the requisite equipment to teachers and give the conditions of student welfare a facelift.
He bestowed praises on all present school heads whom in spite of facing disheartening challenges, are still vibrant in the discharge of their responsibilities. He urged them to hold on to that because government is readily positioned to have the alluded predicaments dealt with.
Isaac Appaw-Gyasi further iterated on the significance of the Free S.H.S education, a swift intervention which is aimed at ensuring that all children have access to secondary cycle education regardless of the financial status of their parent, and urged them to throw their weight behind the initiative which will certainly yield positive implications in all facet of our country.
He pleaded with the School authorities to ensure proper maintenance of the dual desk and assured to provide them the necessary logistics to facilitate their course.
On behalf of the Municipal Education Director, Madam Adwoa Armah Asante, the Deputy Director in charge of planning from the education directorate, guaranteed the MCE that under no circumstance will they disregard his admonishment of maintenance, they will ensure absolute compliance for the furniture to last for a long duration.
She expressed delightful remarks heaping plaudits on both the MCE and the President for making such a heartwarming provision which will also serve as an incentive to students and teachers hence giving rise to effectiveness and efficiency in class.
The MCE found it pertinent to point out in his final thoughts that, school heads, teachers and students should eschew from negative tendencies contrary to the rules of the Electoral commission in the upcoming general elections on December 7th urging them to establish themselves as ambassadors of peace.
Other Officials from the Municipal Education Directorate were Madam Matilda Botchway (PRO), Madam Loretta Akua Ayisi (HR) and Mr. Divine Louis Simpiney (Municipal Coordinating Director) from the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly with other Heads of Department from the Assembly were all present.
