N JUABEN S: Management embarks on projects inspection
In fulfilling the core mandates in the Local Governance level, the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly with her mission and vision on developing social and economic well-being of the citizenry within the Municipality took the step on Thursday, September 17, 2020, to inspect some completed and ongoing projects in some areas being; Koforidua Presby ‘A’ school, At Nyamekrom, Koforidua Zongo market, and at Koforidua Children’s Park.

The Foreman; Biantey Patrick in charge of the construction of three (3) classrooms block with an office and Storeroom at Koforidua Presby ‘A’ assured the inspection team to expect the completion and handing over of their keys by September ending.
On behalf of the management of the school, Madam Lydia Ohenewa, a teacher declared that the progress of the New School block is very encouraging but did alert the team on a Mango tree behind the block which might cause a huge problem to the school block in the near future.
The team also inspected an ongoing twenty (20) lockable stores and a yet to be completed pavements at the forecourt of the newly completed lockable stores at Koforidua Children’s park.
At Nyamekrom, the team finally inspected an ongoing Six (6) classrooms Rehabilitation Center /workshop with twelve (12) rooms Dormitory block, which is to house and train vulnerable and PWDs within the municipality. The Nyamekrom project is funded by the ‘World Bank’ through the ‘Special Common Fund’ which was awarded to ‘Samotrust” Consult for the construction.
According to the Contractor in charge of the Nyamekrom project, Mr. Pious Baidoo and Alhaji Abdul Aziz respectfully said the dormitory is expected to be completed within the first week of October, 2020 and the Rehabilitation Center within the second week of November 2020.
Mr. Charles Arko; The Municipal Works Engineer opened the forum for discussions on the updates of the project at Nyamekrom, Mrs. Iris Dalaba; Municipal Planning Officer asked whether the Contractors applied the gender equality system in the hiring of labours at the site. Alhaji Abdul Aziz answered that about seventy percent (70%) of the labourers were hired within the Nyamekrom environs, including women.
Mr. Pious Baidoo suggested that the Assembly should immediately provide electricity and water which Madam Iris Dalaba said the Assembly will soon supply the Rehabilitation Center with Poly-tanks.
The entourage from the Assembly was; Mr. Charles Arko (Municipal Works Engineer), Madam Iris Dalaba (Municipal Planning Officer), Madam Gifty A. Mamah (Municipal Internal Auditor), Assistant Director Sarpong Boakye Yiadom, Mr. Asante Aaron from the Finance Department and Mr. Victor Okoampah (Municipal Budget Officer).
