MCE hands over 200 metal frame desks to GES

The Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben South, Isaac Appaw-Gyasi has presented two hundred (200) metal-frame dual desks to eight (8) basic schools in the New Juaben South Municipality.

Each of the beneficiary schools including Freeman Methodist Basic ‘A’ and ‘B’ Wesley Methodist Basic ‘A’ and ‘B’, Apimpoa M/A Basic ‘A’ and ‘B’, Nyamekrom M/A Basic and Simpoammiensa M/A Basic schools received 20 dual desks aimed at ensuring a conducive and comfortable learning atmosphere as a means of improving the quality of education in the Municipality.

Presenting the items to the Municipal Education Directorate, the MCE explains the rationale behind the gesture, saying the government led by His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo is committed to ensuring quality education is for all and also to leave an unprecedented achievement in the country so as to benefit the future generations.

The MCE cautioned the various school heads and other SMEs to cultivate maintenance culture to ensure the durability of the property in the schools.



“Furthering to that, the Assembly will not drag its feet to make education more attractive in the Municipality” and added that management in collaboration with the GES will ensure teaching and learning materials are always available to make learning easy.

Mr. Isaac Appaw – Gyasi revealed that, the distribution of furniture forms part of the Assembly’s measures to improve upon the quality of education in the municipality.

He noted that the Assembly attached great importance to education and as such will continue to partner with the education directorate to work hard towards improving the present standard.

MCE urged beneficial schools to continue believing in the government under the able Leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, because there are more projects in place to help develop our educational system in this country.



The MCE stressed the need to improve maintenance culture; and urge all headmasters and education directorate to consider that from time to time so that this furniture can be used for a longer duration.

Headmistress of Nyamekrom M/A, Miss Christiana Takyi expressed her gratitude towards the MCE’s good works, and promised to maintain the desks which have been given to them.

The Municipal Education Director, Mr. Victor De-Graft indicated that this metal frame desks have come as a very good support to the directorate, adding that though they know there are going to be one or two challenges, they assure the MCE that there is going to be a maintenance culture to guarantee the desks are used for a long period of time. “We are very grateful to Hon. MCE and the government for the donation to the education directorate”, he added.
