Awutu Senya East Assembly Approves MCE

The Awutu Senya East Assembly has confirmed the President's Nominee, Mr. Michael Yaw Essuman Mensah former Constituency Secretary of New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the area as Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).

All the 19 Assembly members present, voted yes to endorse his nomination in an election conducted by Electoral Commission Officials in the Municipality led by Mr Dominic Abganu the Municipal Director at a Special Meeting of the Assembly held at Kasoa.

Mr Kwamena Duncan,Central Regional Minister witnessed the election with Madam Mavis Awaa Koomson MP for the area and also a Minister of State and traditional ruler.

Mr Mensah commended the Assembly members for confirming him as their MCE adding that he would not abuse the honour done him.

He also thanked President Nana Akufo Addo for giving him the opportunity to serve his people and the country saying he will work in accordance with the laid down rules and regulations towards the growth and development of the area.

Mr Duncan advised the new MCE to work with stakeholders in the area in order to administer the affairs of the constituency without any hindrances.

He also urged the members of the house to place the development of the Municipality above their personal ambitions and political affiliations.

Later in an interview with the Media Mr Michael Mensah stated that his priorities were Education,Sanitation and boundary disputes with Gomoa East and GA South, saying he would collaborate with the Chiefs and stakeholders to resolve the disputes.

He stated that his administration would go all out to demolish structures on the Okulu River ways which prevented the flow of water whenever it rained.
