Residents lament over poor road at Ofaakor - Kasoa stretch

The People of Kasoa-Ofaakor in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region have appealed to the government to come to their aid due to the poor road network.

In an interview with ghanadistricts.com, they said the roads have been in a continuous state of deterioration for so long and it’s affecting their work which as a result is causing huge traffic on the way.

When Ghanadistricts.com visited the community, it was observed that a significant portion of the asphalt road had been washed away. Most portions of the road had developed deep gullies with the main Kasoa to Bawjuase road and the Jei River road not spared.

Data put together by some nearby residents who stay around the road side, shows an increase in the number of persons killed in road crashes due to potholes which have become manholes in the community.

According to some concerned citizens of the town, this makes driving very difficult for road users and is causing a very huge traffic, of which some drivers have even parked their vehicles.

Some drivers also complained about the poor roads network because it cost them to fix their cars almost every week. They further said the poor road network makes it difficult for people to use the road during rainy seasons.

The people of Kasoa are calling on the MP and other government leaders to respond to their cry. They need the roads fixed to reduce accidents and also make the usage of the road comfortable.
