N JUABEN S: MCE tours exam centres

This year’s West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) has started across the country.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Isaac Appaw-Gyasi, the Municipal Director of Education; Mrs. Mavis Yirenkyi, the Deputy Director in charge of Administration and Finance; Mrs. Abena Gyamera, the Deputy Director Human Resource Management and Development; Mrs. Gloria Aggrey Kilson.

Others included were the Public Relations Officer of the Ghana education service; Mrs. Matilda Serwaa Botwe and the Senior High School Coordinator; Madam Mercy Afriyie have toured four examination centres in the New Juaben South Municipality.

A total of Four thousand, eight hundred and six (4806) candidates sat for the examination in the New Juaben South Municipality in the Eastern Region comprising of nine hundred and eighty-five (985) females and one thousand eight hundred and twenty-two (1822) males.



The MCE expressed words of encouragement to the WASSCE candidates and also wished them well as they write their papers. He went on to congratulate the candidates for their preparations towards their external exams. He however urged them to put in their best to enable them enjoy their entry into tertiary level.

He urged the candidates to pay attention carefully to questions, read and make sure they understood before attempting to answer. He continued to advise them to revise their notes before the commencement of subsequent subjects.



The Municipal Education Director; Mrs Mavis Yirenkyi in an address encouraged candidates to put in their best effort and also do away with foreign materials in the examination hall. On behalf of the educational directorate, Mrs. Mavis Yirenkyi wished all candidates a successful examination.



The Senior high Schools visited were the New Juaben Senior High School, the Koforidua Senior Secondary and Technical school, the Oti Boateng Senior High School and the Pentecost Senior High School.
