Njnma holds stakeholders engagement

The new Juaben north municipal Assembly in conjunction with ABANTU have organized a stakeholders meetings at Assembly hall. The Forum was held on the theme: “promotion of Gender Equality and Women’s Rights in Cocoa Life” and also part of Government policy of bringing Governance to the doorstep of the citizens.

Participants were from various groups such as Chiefs, landlords, youths, Religious leaders, Assembly Members, technocrats from the Assembly, traders and farmers within the municipality.

Madam Comfort Asante in her address stated clearly what the Assembly has done and what they are still doing to help the Municipality grow. She said the Assembly is still young but trying its best to put the Municipality on a good developmental ladder. She urged everyone to feel free and come to the Assembly when they need any help or any suggestion that will help the Municipality to grow.

The facilitator in her presentation said the women in our society should be given chance to represent us at the Assembly level and also at the Parliamentary level to participate in our governance.

She stress the need to involve the women in our decision making in all areas of level either homes, work place or our governance.

She said the time women becomes house wife is past and therefore both men and women should involve in doing house duty such as cooking, washing, and supporting the each other in cash as the family is concern.

The Municipal finance officer, Mr.Alhaji Muntala Alhassan sensitized the participants on how the Assembly have mandated GRA to collect the property rate on behalf of the Assembly.
