The rest are Amankwakrom–Tornu (4km), Amankwakrom Town Roads (6.0km) and Krachi – Bondaso (25km).
Mr Samuel Kena, District Chief Executive of the Area, announced at the Assembly’s first Ordinary Meeting held at Donkorkrom.
Addressing Assembly Members, the DCE stated that: “there is no doubt that the state of our road network greatly impedes our developmental efforts, indeed, a greater proportion of our food comes from the hinterlands where the deteriorated nature of these roads makes it very difficult and unattractive for our farmers to cart their farm produce to the urban centres”.
He however, noted that Government and for that matter the Assembly was making frantic efforts to reshape these roads to improve the situation.
The project when completed, he stated “would make most of the roads passable to enable our hard working farmers have easy access to the market centres to sell their produce to improve upon their living standards”.
Meanwhile, the Assembly is also said to be negotiating with the Afram Plains South District to secure its grader to help reshape various roads which are yet to be given on contract.
