GRIDCo 22/23 NSPs handover Prestea water project
The Ghana Grid Company LTD (GRIDCo) 2022/23 batch of National Service Personnel (NSP) supported by the Company proudly commissioned the Prestea Spring Water Project in Prestea, Western Region as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility.

The project dubbed “The Prestea Spring Water Project” offers some solution to the water challenges the Prestea Heman community had been grappling with. The project features two water reservoirs connected to a spring water source within the forest.
It is a testament to the dedication and community spirit of the NSPs.
The project executed at a cost of GHs 80,000 consists of a 10,000-liter capacity water storage facility has, two overhead reservoirs, four water outlets, and; an in-built connection enabling a clean and safe access to the natural water from a spring by the residents.
This facility has undergone testing and has been certified safe for human consumption by Ghana water Company LTD.
Emily Otoo, Manager for HR Operations shared the impact of projects like this on the communities in which GRIDCo operates.
In a memorable moment, Nana Nteboa Prah IV, passionately charged the District Assembly and the youth of the community to safeguard this precious gift. He expressed profound gratitude and called upon GRIDCo to extend more CSR projects to the area.
A distinguished group of guests and dignitaries graced the occasion, including Nana Nteboa Prah IV, the Divisional Chief of Prestea-Himan Traditional Area, Honourable Shaibu, the Assemblyman for the community, representatives from the National Service Secretariat, the Municipal Police Commander, along with representatives from FGR and Sankofa Mines.
The commissioning of the Prestea Spring Water Project marks a significant milestone in GRIDCo's journey of community engagement and project delivery by its NSPs over the last six years. The Prestea Spring Water Project showcases the company's dedication to making a positive impact beyond the realm of electricity transmission and distribution.
