MCE engages mining communities in the Municipality

The Municipal Chief Executive for Prestea-Huni-Valley Municipal Assembly Mr. Mozart Kweku Owuh together with the Municipal Police Commander and the NADMO coordinator continued their community engagement to mining communities.

The team visited Yareyeya and Tarkwa Bremen communities in the municipality.

The MCE encouraged the community, chiefs, assembly members and unit committee members to help regulate and arrest illegal miners most especially those on our water bodies and forest.

He encouraged individuals who have an interest in mining to come to the municipal assembly so that they get the necessary assistance and education on the appropriate way of mining.

He promised to ensure that miners with good sites get appropriate documentation for mining.

He assured them that he will monitor the activities of miners with appropriate documentation to cover their pit before a new concession be given to them.

However, he urged those with Cham-fang machines to remove them with immediate effect.
