Capacity building for assembly members
The New Juaben North Municipal Assembly has organized a two day workshop training for all Assembly members and Government Appointees, as part of institutional strengthening and capacity building.

The purpose of the training is to sharpen the skills of the Assembly members knowledge on Ghana Decentralization Policy and Local Governance System in terms of Deliberative functions, Legislative Functions, Executive Functions, Oversight Functions, Representative Functions, and change making Projects.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Comfort Asante in her address asked the participants to take the training very seriously to enrich their knowledge in the Local Government system to enhance their performance of their duties.
The facilitator, Nana Osei Safo Kantanka II urged the Assembly members to grab this opportunity to enhance their knowledge with the requisite skills in deliberating issues at the floor of their general Assembly meetings and how to move a motion as the standing orders of the Assembly requires by the local Governance 2016 (Act 936) by the 1992 constitution.
On the first day, twenty five (25) Assembly members and Government Appointees of the Assembly were taken through the Law Governing Decentralization and Local Governance Act and other related powers to the Assembly members.
On the second day, twenty seven (27) Assembly members including Government Appointees and six (6) traditional leaders within the New Juaben North municipality was also taken through Local Government Governance and Service Delivery Standards.
The traditional leaders after the training was called to sign the citizens’ charter with their Assembly members within their communities to make sure that each member work within their mandate in pursuant to section 16 of the local Governance Act,2016 (Act 936).
Presents were the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Ndinga Nborinyi, Municipal Finance Officer, Mr. Alhaji Muntala Alhassan, and the Assistant Human Resource Officer, Mrs.Lilyrose Darkoa Ayeh.
