DCE joins 'Akwasidai' festival celebration

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Sekyere Central, Mr. Benjamin Kingsley Koduah, has joined this year’s celebration of the Akwasidae festival at Kwamang in the Ashanti region.

The Akwasidae Festival is a magnificent Ashanti festival celebration which is centered on ancestral reverence, remembrance and acknowledgement of past kings and noble feats.

The festival also serves as a celebration of the Golden Stool.

Speaking at a durbar, the Chief of Kwamang Traditional Council, Barima Britum Okyere Bediako II, appealed for support from the DCE to enable them implement some resolutions made by the central Parent Teachers Association at Kwamang.

The resolutions include, stopping mass promotion of school children to the next class without recourse to the performance of the particular child, ban on the use of (Pragia) tricycle by school children/ minors and prohibiting riders without license from riding motor vehicles at Kwamang.

The DCE then assured the Omanhene of his full support to the implementation of the resolutions made by the central PTA.
