District Chief Executive for the Ekumfi District in the Central Region has lauded some communities in the district for initiating development projects to solve some pressing challenges confronting them.

He indicated that, though it is the duty of the district assembly to provide the needed infrastructure and other basic amenities in the various communities, the assembly alone can neither provide all nor do them at the pace that they are needed. 

Mr. I.K Dawson is also calling on other communities to learn from the bold and positive initiatives and not to fold their arms waiting for government and the assembly to solve all their problems. He therefore welcomes the initiatives and promised the assistance of the assembly in that regard to accelerate completion of such projects.

In view of this, the assembly is distributing 1000 cement bags to a number of communities to help them to complete various projects in their localities. The projects range from community centres, public places of convenience, teachers’ quarters among others. The communities include Adansi, Ebirem, Atakwa, Ekumfi- Estiedu, among others.

The DCE was confident the district would better accelerate its developmental quest when communities stick to this principle.
