EKUMFI: All communities to get water by December-DCE

For residents in the Ekumfi District in the central region, access to potable water will soon be the least of their worry following a vigorous move to extend water to all communities in the district.

For residents in the Ekumfi District in the central region, access to potable water will soon be the least of their worry following a vigorous move to extend water to all communities in the district.

District Chief Executive, I.K Dawson disclosed that a project to extend potable water to all the 57 communities in the district is ongoing and about two-thirds of the communities  Allhas so far been completed.

The DCE said because of the commitment to complete the project, the assembly has again procured pipes to ensure the remaining communities are not delayed unnecessarily.

The water expansion project in the area has been made Possible thanks to the completion of the about 75 million Euros Essarkyir water Dam which was handed over to the Ghana Water Company Limited about a month ago.

He was full of praise to the late President Evans Atta Mills, whose tenure the project was started.

Mr. Dawson was optimistic the entire extension project will be concluded by the end of the year.
