District Chief Executive nominee for the South Tongu District in the Volta Region, Samuel Eworyi has been confirmed by the assembly members.

Mr. Eworyi polled 42 votes out of 56 with 14 no to secure more than the mandatory two-third majority votes for the post.

The new chief executive who was immediately sworn into office after the election commended the assembly members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work assiduously for the development of the district.

He however called for total collaboration from all and sundry including the traditional authorities and the assembly members in order to achieve the assembly’s objectives.

Mr Samuel Eworyi who has vast experience in community development is expected to bring his experiences to bear on the assembly to accelerate the pace of development in the district.
