AMANSIE W: Chief urges parents to invest in education of their wards

The new Chief of Manso-Kwankyiabo near Manso-Nkwanta in the Amansie West District has outlined his vision for the town.

Nana Darko Amoateng called for unity among the people to enhance the rapid development of the town.

He told a durbar held in his honour by the chiefs and people of Manso-Kwankyiabo that education was the pillar of development, and called on the people to invest in the education of their children to enable them become useful citizens.

Nana Amoateng appealed to the Ghana Education Service and the District Assembly to establish a Kindergarten for the town to prevent little children from trekking long distances to school.

The new chief appealed to the people to re-kindle the communal spirit to enable them undertake self-help projects.

Otumfuo’s Safiesohene, Nana Owusu Dotwah, who graced the occasion, appealed to the people of the town to support the new chief to enable him develop the town.

He said the town was on the verge of being destroyed by illegal mining activities, popularly called galamesy, and called on the people to send their children to school and encourage them to study hard to become productive citizens of the country.

Among dignitaries who attended the out-dooring ceremony were Mr. Alex Kwame Bonsu, the new District Chief Executive for Amansie West, and the former DCE, Mr. Ben Kwakye Adeefe.
