AMANSIE W: 24 youth benefit from REP

About 24 youth who received training under the Rural Enterprise Project (REP) in the Amansie West District  have been presented with start-up kids worth GHs 12,820 to assist them establish their private business.

About 24 youth who received training under the Rural Enterprise Project (REP) in the Amansie West District  have been presented with start-up kids worth GHs 12,820 to assist them establish their private business.

Beneficiaries were made to undergo training in sectors such as  tailoring, hairdressing, motor vehicle mechanic, heavy duty auto mechanic, carpentry, vulcanizing and gas welding tools.
 
The District Chief Executive, Charles Oti Prempeh who presented the items to beneficiaries however noted that the programme which received significance and financial support from the International Fund for Development and the African Development Bank (AFDB) was aimed at drastically reducing the ever increasing unemployment rate in the area.

He reiterated the assembly in collaboration with other developemnt partners will frequently engage the youth in such skills and development programmes in fulfillment of government’s committmented to fight especially youth unemployment in the district.

The DCE also added that private business in every country contributes meaningfully towards "nation building" and that government was doing its possible best to ensure the creation of individual business in the county.

He however warned beneficiaries to avoid the sale of what they have been presented with but rather grab the opportunity and make good use of it.
