The Asunafo South District would on Friday, July 27 be an interesting place to be since residents would all converge at one place to observe a durbar which is aimed at creating a platform to make known measures being put in place by the assembly to boost education.

It is expected that the District Assembly in collaboration with non-governmental organizations would on that day distribute about 6,000 new pair of shoes to school children in the area.

The move is to make education a more lucrative institution to encourage the children within the district to attend in order to acquire knowledge to become better persons in the future.

District Chief Executive for the Asunafo South District Assembly, Mr. Atta Bosompem who made this information known, revealed that, some of the pupils sometimes go to school on barefoot and others without slippers.

He believes that the shoes would help solve the problem and bring relief to the school children.

Mr. Bosompem indicated that government could not execute all development projects alone hence calling on benevolent organizations to take up such initiatives.

Some of the towns to benefit from the donation include; Siiso, Aprakukrom, Kookooso, Adjeikrom among others.
