Snippets of information available to Ghanaditricts.com has it that a building that serves as an ICT centre for Agogo, the capital of the newly created Asante Akim North District Assembly in the Ashanti Region now serves as an office accommodation for the new district.

According to the information, the centre has since 2007 imparted the people of Agogo and its surrounding areas with knowledge in ICT but had to be relocated to make way for it to be refurbished to serve as an office accommodation for the new district assembly.

However, in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com the Deputy Coordinating Director of the previous Asante Akim North Municipality (now Asante Akim Central), Edmund Gyamfi asserted that the said building belongs to the Agogo Urban Council but the Agogo Traditional Council in their quest to undertake an ICT project pleaded for a portion of it for the commencement of the project.

He narrated that when the idea of the creation of the new district came to light, however, they informed the Agogo Traditional Council about it and the ICT equipment including other facilities were conveyed to a satellite office belonging to the Traditional Council.

Although Mr. Gyamfi was unable to confirm whether the computers were currently in use or not, he assumed the satellite office was situated at a strategic place in the town which makes it the best alternative for the centre to be operated from.

On how the new district was fairing, Mr. Gyamfi said the District Chief Executive for the Asante Akim South Assembly has been mandated by the Regional Coordinating Council to serve as the acting Chief Executive for the new district pending the nomination of a new DCE which he believed would be done soon for development to continue.

He said projects initiated by the previous Asante Akim Central Assembly was also ongoing without any hindrance.
