The Assemblyman for Wamaso East electoral area under the new Twifu-Atimokwa district of the Central Region, Kwame Anane Yamoah has expressed worry with the inactiveness of affairs at the Assembly.

He explained that imperceptibly the operations and functions of the Assembly have allegedly come to a standstill because all substantive committees under the Assembly had been dissolved when the new Hemang/Lower/ Denkyira was created out of the Twifu/Heman/Lower/Denkyira district.

He claimed the DCE, Foster Joseph Andoh had also been moved to oversee the new district leaving the old district, thus now Twifu-Atimokwa district abandoned for the past two months.

Mr. Kwame Anane, who doubled as the Chairman for the Development Committee at the then THLD Assembly therefore feared that this situation could invariably inhibit the pace of development in the area.

But reacting to these claims made by the Assemblyman in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, Mr Knight Acquah, the Presiding Member for the Assembly has debunked the argument made by the Assembly member, adding that the DCE is still at post running the administration of these two districts in the area.

He said in spite of the fact that all committees under the erstwhile THLD Assembly were dissolved during the inauguration of the new district, development projects which were approved by the Assembly are currently ongoing in the area.

According to him, the Assembly is on the verge of convening another sitting by 15th September, 2012 to deliberate on certain matters of interest to the Assembly, and thereby relay key reports to members of the Assembly in the bid to push the growth and development of the district.

He however noted that the general meeting was delayed as a result of the fact that the assembly has been bedeviled with financial constraints.
