AKYEMANSA: Minister Commissions new Court House

The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr. Victor Smith yesterday commissioned a new court house at Ofoase in the Akyemansa District as part of efforts to improve infrastructure in the judicial system of the country.

The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr. Victor Smith yesterday commissioned a new court house at Ofoase in the Akyemansa District as part of efforts to improve infrastructure in the judicial system of the country. 

The Minister who commissioned the project as part of his familiarization tour in the district hailed the Assembly for the intervention and expressed the hope that the project will go a long way to ensure peace and justice in the area.

In other related developments, the minister also inspected two ongoing projects in the area including a new police station and a new bungalow for the District police Commander.

He said government is committed to equipping the police service to ensure peace and stability in the area especially this year as the elction approaches. 

The police station will however include a charge office, offices, male and female cells and sanitary facilities.

The projects are at various stages of completion and funded through the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) at a total cost of GHs 200,000.00.

However some residents who interacted with the minister appealed to him to use his office in providing  the community with potable water supply and also up-grade their electricity power supply.
