The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate for Afram Plains South in the Kwahu North District in the Eastern Region, Joseph Appiah Boateng has disclosed that one of his cardinal points of focus when elected into office will be toward the youth.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate for Afram Plains South in the Kwahu North District in the Eastern Region, Joseph Appiah Boateng has disclosed that one of his cardinal points of focus when elected into office will be toward the youth.

According to him, youth development is an essential component towards accelearated development because they constitute the highest workforce of the country hence their underdevelopment will spell doom for the society.

He said there are many talented youths out there who needed some push to help them discover themselves to become usefull to themselves and the general society.

Mr. Appiah indicated that his strategy will be to get closer to the youth to understand their needs and aspirations, which will help, formulate modalities for assistance.

“Education and skills development will be high on the agenda to provide opportunities for the youth to become productive and self reliance”. 

These efforts he noted will also lead reduced social vices among the youth which ofcourse pose threat to the security of the country.

“Ideal hands are easily lured into illegal activities and we must guard against it”.

He lauded the introduction of the Local Enterprises and Skills Development Programme (LESDEP), Youth Enterprises and Skills Development Programme (YESDEP) among others being run by the government that has provided jobs for thousands of youth across the country.

He made this known in an exclusive interview with Ghanadistricts.com.
