The Kwahu North District office of the Local Enterprises and Skills Development Programme, LESDEP has taken delivery of 16 outboard motors for distribution to 16 beneficiaries in the district.

Disclosing this in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, Mr. Ibrahim Issaka, District Chief Executive expressed delight at the development adding that since a lot of people are engaged in fishing as well as farming in the area, the LESDEP office is inundated with several applications from people expressing interest to benefit from the outboard motors.

He said he is delighted that people have shown grate interest in the programme but appealed to those who would not benefit from these 16 outboard motors to exercise restrain since the assembly was expecting more from the Regional Secretariat.

Mr. Ibrahim Issaka noted that all those along the river who are also involved in fishing either in or outside the Kwahu North District are all looking forward to benefitting from the outboard motors hence they would come in tranches.

The DCE also assured people who trained in other business models including dressmaking, beauty/hairdressing, mobile phone repairs under the LESDEP programme that their start-up kits would be handed over to them soon to enable them get into self employment.
