OFFINSO N: DCE to cut sod for new school blocks

The Offinso North District Assembly has commenced moves to reduce deficit in the infrastructure needs in some selected communities in the district.

The assembly has outlined a number of projects to be constructed in various communities which are deemed to improve the quality of lives of the people.

Starting this Friday, September 15, 2017, the District Chief Executive, David Asare will commence cutting sod for a number of educational projects in three towns in the district.

These projects include;
1.    Afrancho Town:  6-unit classroom block at Afrancho D/A Primary; headmaster’s bungalow at Wiafe Akenten Senior High School; and 6-unit classroom at Methodist Junior High School.
2.    Akomadan Town: 6-unit classroom block at Faith Primary School; classroom block at Presbyterian JHS; water closet toilet facility each at Old Atwene, and Mereku.
3.    Nkenkaasu Town: Water closet toilet facility at Esoro Dome; School block for Presbyterian JHS;  School block for SDA JHS,
4.    Daaso Town: W/C toilet at Daaso Town; mechanised Borehole.

These educational facilities according to the DCE are geared towards creating enabling teaching and learning environment for students in order to improve standard of education in the district.

He said the new projects are to solve various problems in the areas they will be built including solving problem of congestion, replacing dilapidated structures and making structures available at places where none exists.

Meanwhile, a 6-unit block at Akomadan Zongo started some 8 years ago had been completed and handed for use by the students.
