The schools have instituted a number of safety measures to welcome students back to school following the easing of restrictions brought about by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The District Director of Education, Mr. Michael I. Darbbey-Tannian toured Akumadan Senior High and Nkenkaasu Senior High schools to have first-hand information about their readiness.
During the visit, the DCE noticed that classes and lessons had begun on the first day of reopening at Nkenkaasu Senior High. Students were within the required number per class and were all in their face masks.
At Akumadan SHS, classrooms were prepared for only the required 25 students per class, and rooms at the dormitories would not be any exceptions.
Both schools had Veronica buckets placed at vantage points and an Infrared Thermometer to check the temperature of everyone who enters the school.
Headmasters from both schools said they were prepared and ready to welcome the students back for smooth academic work to continue.
The Education District and his entourage encouraged the students to study hard to pass their WASSCE and also adhere to all the safety protocols.
Mr. Michael I.Darbbey-Tannian was accompanied by the District Coordinating Director, Madam Victoria Akyaa Adomako, Staff of the Education Directorate, and Heads of Departments at the Assembly.
