PWDs in Ningo receive support
In a bid to empower Persons With Disabilities, the Ningo Prampram District Assembly, through its share of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF), has donated some items to eight physically challenged persons to enable them start their own businesses.

Items include deep freezer, bags of maize, provisions, butterfly sewing machine and some undisclosed amount of money as set-up capital.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Mr. AL- Latiff Tetteh Amanor, stated that fighting poverty among PWDs comes in divergent interventions such as scholarships to enhance effective education, supporting those learning on the trade (apprenticeship) and financing business startups.
He added that, others can be based on your hard work that will encourage donors to come to your aid when the need arises and urged them to make good use of the appliances given.
Mr. Mohammed Avona, the District Coordinating Director noted that the District has a considerable number of PWDs requests which must be honored.
He added that it is a privilege that the beneficiary have taken delivery of the items and therefore charged them to make good use of the items in order not to run back to the assembly for assistance.
The Social and Community Development Director for the District, Madam Augustina Nartey, also echoed that the presentation forms part of the government's effort to empower the PWDs with cash and business appliances to help startup businesses.
She disclosed that the items donated were based on applications received from the beneficiaries.
