DCE inaugurates eight Town and Area Councils

The DCE of Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District Assembly, Isaac Odoom inaugurated the eight Town and Area Councils in the District. The eight Town and Area Councils are Asikuma, Odoben, Brakwa, Kuntenase, Breman North, Anhwiam, Jamra and Bedum.

During the inaugural ceremony, the DCE congratulated them on their election and also congratulated the Electoral Commission for the successfully conducted election.

He emphasized the need for cooperation "let me reiterate that the decentralization program has placed a lot of responsibilities and functions on Assembly Members and Unit Committee Members in the Development of the District.

You, therefore, need to cooperate and work as an integral system in the exercise of these powers and in the discharge of your functions. You must be diligent, accountable, and responsive to the needs of your people.

This way you will be able to pressurize the Assembly to provide good and well managed educational, health, water system, electricity, good sanitary services and also provide support for law enforcement agencies to enforce environmental cleanliness ".

The DCE also used the opportunity to share street lights to some communities and schools in the District. In all he shared a total of 207 street lights.

He gave 50 to Odoben town, 50 to Brakwa town, 70 to Asikuma town, 10 to Odoben SHS, 10 to Asikuma SHS, 7 to Brakwa SHS and 10 to Career Training Center in Asikuma.

The people thanked the DCE and the Assembly for their good work in the District and asked for more.
