Support govt efforts at developing the youth - DCE

The District Chief Executive for Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District, Mrs Georgina Nkrumah Aboah, has encouraged stakeholders in youth Education to contribute their quota towards the government's efforts at developing the youth.

The DCE said this in a speech delivered on her behalf by Mr Erasmus Otoo, AOB District Youth Coordinator, at the first ever Moringa Community Know How, Food Preservation and Small Business Development Fair, organised by the Moringa Community School of Traders at Breman Baako.

It was under the theme: Empowering the Youth with Entrepreneur Skills - The role of the District Assembly.

The DCE said the youth, who constitute about 70 per cent of the human resources base of the nation, must be given proper training towards the economic transformation of the nation.

She said in this direction the assembly would continue to support authorities of the school to achieve their objectives.

Mrs Aboah said the Assembly had been championing innovations that seek to stimulate the youth to be self-reliant.

She mentioned the Youth Employment Programme, Support to Vocational and Technical Training, the Rural Enterprise Project and Youth in Agriculture as some of the interventions.

Mrs Aboah, therefore, commended the management of the Moringa Community School of Traders for their foresight, saying that the students after completion would acquire skills and knowledge to be dependable.

Mr Abu Bakari Abudulai, Manager of the school, said the school was jointly established by Moringa Community .Org Africa, a Non-Governmental Organization and Moringa Community school of Traders .Org USA.

Mr Abudulai, therefore, urged people in the area to take advantage of the project to learn some trade at the School to better their lot.
