He said, the fundamental development of the country is in the hope of the assembly members and that was the reason why the people have elected them to represent their electoral area in the Assembly.

The deputy minister urged the newly elected members to initiate enough revenue mobilization in their areas to characterize internally generated funds for the Assembly.

According to him, the revenue mobilization will help to ensure maintenance culture and provision of infrastructure and social amenities for their various electoral areas.

He said assembly members need to obey the Standing Orders of the assembly to help drive the agenda and smooth running of the Assembly.

The Municipal Chief Executive for the Kwahu West Municipa Assembly Mr. Yaw Owusu Addo said, if you want to succeed in your tenure as an assembly member, give the chiefs and elders of your communities the utmost due respect and that notwithstanding, before you come for assembly meeting, kindly consult your chiefs and elders as well as the unit committees to reach consensus on the issue affecting your communities.

Mr. Addo said, the people of your various electoral areas have reposed their confidence in you and that is the reason why they have elected you to stand in their stead to squarely confront the challenges facing them and to turn the opportunities opened to them into advantages for the improvement of their welfare.

“I remind honorable members that the work here goes here beyond debates and formulation of bye-laws”, he said.
