Speaking at the gathering, The Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Yaw Owusu Addo speaking at the event held at the Methodist Church Ghana Auditorium at Nkawkaw Zongo said chiefs and queens play critical role in the development process, and asked the council to make regular contacts with them in identifying and addressing the development needs of the communities.

Zonal Councils as a sub-structure of the Assembly at the local level, the MCE noted that transparency in decision making would greatly reduce rumor mongering among the people and would not thwart development efforts.

He urged them to bury all their differences, swallow their pride, remain united and cooperate with our chiefs and opinion leaders in decision making process to facilitate development in their localities.

The Municipal Environmental Health Officer, Mr. Joseph Krampa, in his presentation said every community shall be responsible for establishing sanitation norms and ensuring that individuals and households comply with these norms to leave a healthy life.

He added that, the community will also be responsible for monitoring its progress towards progress on the sanitation ladder.

The MCE expressed gratitude to the people and the Assembly for the confidence they repose in zonal councils, and prayed that with their support the council would be able to work towards addressing the immediate development needs of the localities.
