Kwahu West holds first ordinary general assembly meeting

The Kwahu West Municipal Assembly holds it first ordinary General Assembly Meeting of the second session of the fifth assembly with a call on all stakeholders to support the assembly’s vision, programmes and activities to meet the expectations of city dwellers.

The Municipal Chief Executive Mr. Yaw Owusu Addo in his sessional address touches on issues of revenue performance, agriculture, health, education, social intervention, road infrastructure and central government policy decisions and implementation.

The assembly meeting was held at the Ebenezer Methodist Church Auditorium, Nkawkaw on 17th May 2021.


He further went on to inform members that, 2020 was a year in which the whole world was hit by the now very well appreciated novel COVID19 pandemic which took everyone by surprise and put the whole world economy in disarray.

He said: “Its effect on our local economy will linger on for a while and we shall feel the impact by way of our ability to deliver the need infrastructure to improve the standard of living of our citizens.”


Touching on revenue performance, the assembly, generated about GHs 1,636,536.10 out of a budgeted figure of GHs 1,926,446.57, representing 84.95% as of December 2020.

The assembly was unable to achieve the budgeted figure of GHs 1,926,446.57 due to several factors key among which was the devastating impact of the covid 19 pandemic.


Mr. Addo therefore urged the members, heads of departments and stakeholders to contribute their quota to transform the municipality.
