This visit was a key part of her ongoing community engagement efforts, focusing on identifying development needs, interacting directly with residents, and promoting vital government initiatives.
At Ejuritia, the community highlighted their need for the completion of an uncompleted community centre and requested support to revamp the Ejuritia Day Senior High School, particularly its administration block and washrooms. The DCE pledged support with quarry stones and roofing sheets, promising a DRIP machine to expedite land clearing for the community centre. She also inspected the community's refuse dump to explore sanitation improvements.
The DCE also thanked the Mpobi community for their cooperation and, in a gesture of support for local farmers, distributed 40 bags of fertilizers and 4 boxes of weedicides. She encouraged the adoption of modern agricultural practices to boost productivity.
Madam Ankrah made an unannounced stop at Mposu, She met with the chief and residents to discuss their pressing needs. The community appealed for road reshaping to improve transportation and the construction of a six-unit classroom block, the DCE therefore assured them that the Assembly would address these requests within available resources, reiterating the government's commitment to equitable development.
Mr. Patrick Anim, the District Director of Agriculture, joined the DCE and strongly encouraged farmers to form cooperative groups.
He explained that cooperatives facilitate access to inputs, technical support, and government programs like the 'Feed Ghana Programme,' which aims to boost agricultural production and food security. He promised that his officers would soon assist farmers in registering these cooperatives.
The DCE urged the communities to remain united and supportive of government programs. She stressed that sustainable development in Afigya Kwabre South hinges on strong collaboration between the Assembly, traditional authorities, and the people.
