Pay property rates to support development – DCE urges

The District Chief Executive for Shai – Osudoku, Mr. Daniel Akuffo has charge residents to pay property rate on time to help bring development in the District.

He said the people should pay taxes and other rates to enable the Assembly to earn revenue for development, saying that, a system was been designed to enable residents pay property rates.

According to Mr. Akuffo, monies from internally generated funds and support from the government have helped the assembly to embark on various developmental projects.

In his address at their Last Town Hall Meeting of the year, he noted the skyline of his district is seeing a lot higher rise building hence the need for an efficient property tax system to shore up revenue.

He stated that the assembly would prosecute landlords and ladies who had been sent and would, therefore, follow it up with prosecution after the deadline.

The DCE stated that, he has resolved to move into serious action by the first quarter of 2020 to ensure that the assembly is able to collect more revenue to meet the aspiration of its social and infrastructure development projects and programs in the district.
