The construction is being undertaken by the Chinese Fujian company following an agreement between the Assembly and the firm to fulfill its corporate social responsibility to the people.

The DCE during an inspection tour to ascertain progress of work on the road said the Assembly has provided some logistical support to the construction firm to facilitate the face-lifting and upgrading of the road.

The contractor said the road construction is expected to be completed in two weeks time and the road is currently being filled with gravels after which tarring would continue.
