He said without additional revenue it would be difficult for the assembly to complete on-going projects and initiate new ones to quicken the pace of progress in the district.

Speaking at the Second Ordinary Meeting of the assembly at Mamponteng on Thursday, Mr Iddisah commended the chiefs and people for their communal spirit, which he said had culminated in the implementation of a number of self-help development projects and pledged the assembly\'s support to complement their efforts.

He said government was aware of the challenges facing the country and appealed to the people to exercise patience, understanding and forbearance as President John Atta Mills administration worked to put things in shape.

Mr Iddisah said government was committed to reducing poverty and called on members of the assembly to identify avenues that would promote income generating activities in their communities to improve the living conditions of the people.

Mr Baffuor Asuming Gyekye, Presiding Member, appealed to members of the various sub-committees of the assembly to eschew partisan politics and discharge their duties dispassionately to speed up the development process of the assembly.

He reminded them of the need to work to achieve the goal of the assembly to promote development.
