DCE, MP Commission 6-unit class room block for Akosomo
A 6 unit classroom block has been commissioned at Akosomo, a community in the Atwima Kwanwoma to help enhance teaching and learning in the area.

The new project was funded through the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETfund).
Speaking at a colouful ceremony, District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, Nana Okyere Tawiah Antwi acknowledged the great efforts and intervention of his predecessors, and incumbent Member of Parliament, Dr. Kojo Appiah Kubi for starting such a noble facility to foster education.
He stated that it has always been the desire of the Assembly complete and commission the project, in line with President Akufo Addo’s policies and programmes to ensure quality and accessible education for all.
According to him, the project was among the few projects that caught his attention after assuming power and for that matter took delight to ensure that the project is completed on time to ensure its intended purpose.
The DCE called for stakeholders support to join their trees and lawns planting to help provide smooth play ground for Physical Education (P.E) and sustains the building even when there are heavy rains.
He also called for maintenance in order to protect the facility for the benefit of all. He advised parents to provide all the basic needs of their wards in support of the government’s educational policy.
He seized the opportunity to inform the gathering that, the government has introduced scholarship schemes that is to help support students in the tertiary level.
The Member of Parliament for the Atwima Kwanwoma constituency Hon. Dr Kojo Appiah Kubi expressed his delight that the project has finally been completed and handed over for use.
He promised to do more to provide the community with other amenities such as roads, toilet facility, water among others.
The Assembly Member of Akosomo Electoral Area, Joseph Osei Tutu, on his part acknowledged Otumfour Mpaboahene, Nana Yaw Owusu Akwanuasah for his massive contribution towards the project and called on others to emulate him.
A representative from the District Education Office, Madam Comfort Amoako also entreated teachers to do their best to teach the students and advised the students to learn hard. She warned parents against engaging their wards in farming while others are in class rooms.
