Decentralized tertiary scholarship is of great benefit to the nation - DCE

The Atwima Kwanwoma District Chief Executive, Nana Okyere Tawiah Antwi has commended the government for historic decentralized tertiary scholarship assistance Nationwide.

The DCE in his address at a durbar organized at the forecourt of the Assembly at Twedie to present scholarship letters to some 54 students who went through a successful selection process hailed the government for decentralizing the scholarship scheme to ensure fair and equitable beneficiaries in all District, Municipal and Metropolitan Assemblies (MMDAs).



He noted that the one-year scholarship which is renewable subject to conduct, performance and other factors is to support them to pursue their courses of study so that they will help enhance the nation’s manpower needs.



Nana Antwi stated that each of the beneficiary students received different amounts due to the differences in the tuition fees from the various tertiary institutions in the country adding that a total of seventy-five thousand Ghana cedis (Gh 75,000) was disbursed as the district’s quota of scholarship package from the scholarship secretariat to support the development of education in the district and the country as a whole.
