A petition sent to the District Chief Executive, Adane Ankomah stated basically four requests;

1. The president should help them to find a market for their produce under acceptable terms even before full operation of the Ghana Tree Crop Authority Board in about September 2020.
2. The Government through the president of Ghana should place a ban on imported raw cashew nuts from countries like La Cote d'Ivoire, Togo, and Burkina Faso.
3. That low quality of cashew nuts from those questionable countries should not be attributed to that of Ghana.
4. The price of the nut per kilo should be increased to Ghc8.00 with at least Ghc 7.00 and not Ghc 5.00 of which some companies are even buying at Ghc 4.00 as of today 17th September 2020.

According to them, the price started very well at Ghc 8.00 although it ended very badly and they were expecting this year would have been better but rather otherwise.

These grieved farmers started their journey from the forecourt of Sampa Presbyterian Church through to Kabile road Junction, back to Sampa main station and finally ended at office of the District Assembly where they presented their petition to the DCE by the Association Secretary, Mr. Clement Anane.

The DCE upon receiving their petition said, he and the NPP Government will not relax on their issues but he will rather fall on the Ministry of Trade and Industry for advice and help.

The farmers, therefore, gave up to the end of this week for help to come to them before they advise themselves the latest by next Monday.
