JAMAN NORTH: 45 Year Old woman adjudged District Best Farmer
A 45 year old farmer Madam Joyce Oheneni from Jenkufa in the Jaman North District is the first female farmer to win the overall best farmer in the District.

Madam Joyce went home with items comprising a brand new registered tricycle (Motorking), 6 catlasses, 6 pieces of wallington boots, a radio set, a piece of cloth, a spraying machine and a certificate.
The 2nd runner up placement award went to a 75 year old farmer, Mr. Asi Fordjour Isaac of Suma Ahenkro who's married to 2 wifes also went home with a brand new bicycle, a brand new foam mattress, a spraying machine, a piece of cloths, a radio set, 5 cutlasses as well as a Bible.
The occasion was chaired by the Chief of Goka, Nana Okokyeredom Ampofo 1st.
In his welcome, the chairman of the event, touched on the government support of farmers by praising the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo for implementing Planting for food and Jobs. He said, Government upon implementation of the program has helped and encouraged the youth in the district engaging themselves in farming and has lead in abundance of food in the district.
He also praised the government for providing portable drinking water in almost all the communities in the district.
The District Chief Executive for the area, Mr Adane Ankomah touched on the government’s flagship programs in the Jaman North District like Planting for Food and Jobs, one district, one factory among others.
Again, provision of beehives for honey production and supply of over 200 thousand cashew seedlings to farmers for free to encouraged youth in Agriculture was not left not out.
Another area he talked about was the leveling of all roads in the district. He therefore advised youth in the district to encourage themselves in Agriculture since the NPP Government is in full support of farmers.
