JAMAN N: ADRA supports agriculture sector

Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Ghana in collaboration with European Union, the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) and the Jaman North District Assembly on September 10, 2019 handed over farm equipment to beneficiary farmers and farm service entrepreneurs under BAAT projects in the Jaman North District.

The equipment presented included 6 tricycles with mist blower, chain saw, 2 pairs of wellington boots, and 3 cutlasses. The items were presented to 6 Farm Service Gang Entrepreneurs to ease the stress of famers consulting Agricultural Officers for assistance for these equipment for use in their farms.

Meanwhile, 48 farmers also received 48 beehives to boost apiculture to enable them produce quality and enough honey for the market.

In an address, the District Chief Executive, Adane Ankamah stated that, all the beneficiaries should put the equipment into proper use and practice good maintenance culture in other to ensure success in their production.

Among the dignitaries that brazed the occasion were, ADRA Country Director (Dr. William Y.K Brown), Director of Agriculture and Food Security-ADRA (S. Asante Mensah) and others.
