Abuakwa South confirms president’s nominee Mr. Kojo Ofori-Sarfo
The Abuakwa South Municipal Assembly formerly East Akyem, on Friday 1ST February, 2019 confirmed the president’s nominee Mr. Kojo Ofori-Sarfo from Akyem Apedwa for the position of Municipal Chief Executive.

Mr. Kojo Ofori- Sarfo pulled 32 votes out of the total number of 32 votes cast representing a one-hundred percent of the total votes. Mr. Kojo Ofori-Sarfo was sworn-in by kyebi magistrate judge after he was declared winner by the electoral commission.
On behalf of the president the Eastern Regional Minister, Eric Kwakye Darfour commended the Assembly members for the peaceful election.
He made an appealed to Assembly Members to work hand in hand with the MCE to solicit meaningful ideas for the development of the municipality as well as their electoral areas, and further urged them to eschew all political differences but to forge ahead in unity for the sake of the municipality.
The Regional Minister also advised the newly elected MCE to respect the constitution governing the position. He was told to use the authority given to him to protect and project the image of the municipality and the nation Ghana.
Mr. Kojo Ofori-Sarfo in his acceptance speech pledged his commitment to put up his best to transform the municipality. He said that nothing could be done without the support of honorable assembly members, management, heads of department and the staff of the assembly.
