LEDZOKUKU: MCE engages residents

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ledzokuku Assembly [LEKMA], Mr Mordecai Quarshie has led various Heads of Departments to visit all twelve Electoral Areas in the Municipality.

The team formally engaged residents to know their challenges and needs to adopt how best to resolve these challenges.

Some of the residents who were present at the meeting enumerated a number of challenges facing their Electoral Areas. Prominent among them were poor drainage system, poor road network, lack of gutters, inadequate refuse containers among others.

Others also raised concerns about erratic power supply, excessive noise making, teenage pregnancy, Lack of bridges, inadequate toilet facility, poor waste disposal and Lack of police visibility.

The MCE reminded them of the launch of operation clean your frontage, adding that the programme is the key part of the President’s vision for Greater Accra Region. According to him the exercise is to make Accra the cleanest city in West Africa and therefore called on the residents to work hard to make it a success.

He called on residents to desist from trading on the pavements, insisting that, the pavements were created for pedestrians and not for trading.

He assured them that plans are underway to free the pavements and waterway.
