Items including drink, maize, water and money were presented by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Mr. Mordecai Quarshie at a durbar of chiefs and the people of Teshie to mark this year’s Homowo Festival.
The MCE called on the chiefs to use the Homowo occasion to educate the people to enroll their children in schools so that the educational infrastructures would not be a waste of resources.
The chief of Teshie, Nii Gbetsortor Akomfra expressed gratitude to the government and the MCE for the kind gesture and called for peace, love and unity among the people of Teshie.
He challenged the people to avoid conflict and rancor during the Homowo celebration.
He therefore cautioned the people not to do anything to fall foul to the laws of Ghana, adding that “our behavior should be an example to be emulated by our children”.
