LeKMA demolishes unauthorised structures at Manet Junction

A demolition exercise has been carried out by the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly to remove structures at Manet Junction on the Spintex Road in Accra.

The action is to pave way for the construction of an overpass to connect the Teshie Link Road to East Legon and its environs.

Barely two weeks ago, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Mr. Henry Quarety, led a team to demolish wooden and metal structures in the same area for work to commence on the project.


However these squatters managed to return to the area prompting the assembly to undertake the exercise.


The demolishing, which was sanctioned by the Municipal Chief Executive of the area, Mr Mordecai Quarshie, was accompanied by officers of the Works department at LeKMA and some police officers from the Okpoi Gonno District.
